What it is
What is a process audit?
A process audit is a close look at how work moves through a business, step by step, to find the manual, repeated or error-prone steps that are worth automating.
This one includes an AI opportunity review: which steps an AI model could handle reliably, what that would cost to run, and which steps are better left to a simple rule or to a person. It ends with a written plan, ranked by payback, that you keep whether or not you build anything with me.
It is the first of the FDesign automation services, and the usual place to start.

A free audit is usually a sales call with a company that also sells the build. That can be a useful first conversation, and the 20-minute call on this page is free too. A paid audit is a different piece of work: it is measured, written down and independent of any sale.

What manual work costs
How the audit puts a figure on manual work
Hours are only part of what manual work costs. For every process, the report adds up three things, so you can decide in euros rather than in hours.
- Staff time. Hours a month, multiplied by what an hour of that person's time costs you, employer contributions included.
- Errors. Wrong invoices, credit notes, orders sent twice, and the time it takes to find and fix each one.
- Compliance risk. Steps where a mistake carries a legal cost. Once the e-invoicing transition period ends on 31 December 2026, a Greek B2B invoice that is not issued electronically is treated as not issued, and a first offence can cost up to 50% of its VAT.

Greece and Cyprus
What the audit checks for businesses in Greece and Cyprus
The audit runs over video calls and screen sharing, in Greek or English, so it works the same for a shop in Athens, an office in Limassol or a business anywhere else.
E-invoicing in Greece MYDATA
B2B e-invoicing through myDATA has applied to large businesses since March 2026 and extends to almost every other Greek business from 1 October 2026, with a transition period to 31 December 2026. The audit follows each invoice from your shop or ERP to your provider and marks every step where data is still typed by hand.
Invoicing in Cyprus VIDA
Cyprus has no domestic B2B e-invoicing mandate yet. Under the EU's ViDA rules, invoices for cross-border B2B sales within the EU must be electronic from 1 July 2030, so the audit notes which of your systems can already produce structured invoices.
AI on Greek documents AI
Invoices, orders and customer emails written in Greek need AI steps tested on Greek text. The audit looks at real examples of your own documents before it recommends an AI step.
Personal data GDPR
The report shows where personal data moves between systems and where it is stored, so data protection is settled before anything is built. You share your screen, and I never ask for passwords.

What a finding looks like, taken from a real build
Each finding in the report names the problem, what it costs today and what fixing it involves. This one comes from an automation I built and still run for a Greek health and supplement business.

Founder of FDesign, Senior WordPress and WooCommerce Engineer
Dorothy Fiedor is a senior WordPress and WooCommerce engineer in Athens and the founder of FDesign. She designs, builds and runs production stores end to end, from the UX and the custom plugins to WooCommerce HPOS migrations, ERP and marketplace integrations, and the managed hosting behind them, including PHP-FPM worker tuning and MariaDB upgrades. Since 2020 she has also been the in-house WordPress engineer for a multi-brand supplement e-commerce group.
Her background is in design. She trained in graphic design in Athens and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, produced multilingual publications for EU institutions, and moved to the web in 2015, building WordPress sites, hand-coded HTML email for major brands such as Papastratos and BMW, and Magento front ends for car parts retailers, while growing FDesign alongside. Who carries out the audit?
Dorothy Fiedor, the founder of FDesign. I carry out every audit myself and also build and maintain the automations it recommends, so nothing is handed over halfway.
Do I have to build the automations with FDesign?
No. The plan is yours, written so that any developer can pick it up. If you do build with FDesign, the audit fee comes off the build price.
Does the audit cover AI?
Yes. For each step, the report says whether an AI model could handle it reliably, what it would cost to run each month, and where a person should still check the result. Where a simple rule does the job, the report recommends the rule.
How is the time saved turned into euros?
The report multiplies the hours each process takes by what an hour of staff time costs you, then adds the cost of errors and any compliance risk. Every recommendation comes with a monthly figure in euros and the build price next to it.
Can you audit a business outside Greece?
Yes. The audit runs remotely, over video calls, in Greek or English, for businesses in Cyprus and anywhere else. Businesses elsewhere in the EU with a VAT number are invoiced under the reverse charge, so no Greek VAT is added.
Does the audit help with e-invoicing in Greece?
It shows where invoice data still moves by hand between your shop, your ERP and your e-invoicing provider, which matters now that B2B e-invoicing through myDATA applies to almost every Greek business from 1 October 2026. It does not replace advice from your accountant.
